Welcome to my zone 9 garden. My roots are deeply planted in the sandy soil of sub-tropical central Florida, where the summers are long and hot, but the rest of the year is paradise!

Winter Jewels

Among the burned foliage, and what seems like a sea of monotonous green...lies a few winter jewels that sparkle in the sunlight and brighten my day.

Simply spectacular
As pretty as any flower in the garden!

A Ray of Sunshine on a dreary day
Pansies always make me smile!

Thank God for winter flowers and the much needed rain showers we're having today.

W O W !!!

First of all I LOVE your new header picure and the ornamental kale is beautiful. Did you grow them from seeds?

Pansies are always a favorite of mine too.

It is cloudy down here, looking like rain sooner or later, and cooler temps tonight.

Thanks for sharing your lovely garden on this gray day.

I'd take green over the brown we have. You have actual color! You lucky girl!

Yes, let's hear it for the rain!

I would love to learn how you make the picture collages. Tutorial?

Enjoy every bit!

Dani...WooHoo is right! My yard looks greener already. :-)

NanaK...It's funny how much more we appreciate something when it's in short supply.

Flowerlady...Thanks! No, I bought them back in early December. I did notice that the color became really vibrant after the couple of cold spells. The pic in the right hand corner is how they originally looked, and the other pics are current. Hope you got some rain, too.

FloridaGirl...Glad to hear you got your share. We ALL need it so desperately.

Daisy...Thanks for your kind words. I did find the collages a bit baffling at first. I'd be glad to send you an email with the steps involved. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

Char...They are real beauties. I have a white/green one, too that's pretty in its own right. I'll be posting that one soon.

Susan: Love your new header picture! Those soft pink flowers are so beautiful. Regardless of the earlier frost we experienced, your winter jewels are certainly shining!
