Welcome to my zone 9 garden. My roots are deeply planted in the sandy soil of sub-tropical central Florida, where the summers are long and hot, but the rest of the year is paradise!

Oh, the anticipation. I bet it's killin' you. I need to go check my clivia and see if it has any buds.

It's such a great time of year for us!

I'd be excited too with all that you have about to burst forth into glorious blooms.

Do you go out and check on them every day? That's what I'm doing these days. It isn't making anything bloom any faster though. I think I have a monk's orchid too. Someone gave me a division of theirs that looks like yours (mine has one bud) but they called it a nun's orchid. Looking at the bud I don't think it will be as tall as the nun's orchids I've seen at Bok Tower. What does the bloom look like? Can hardly stand the wait to see your future flowers.

FloridaGirl...It is killin' me. Hope yours is getting ready to bloom, too.

Dani...Indeed it is!

FlowerLady...You can tell spring is definitely here...hurray!

Kay...You bet I do! Oh...you are so right. It is a Nun's orchid...woops, I better correct it. Thanks, Kay...monk...nuns...at least I was in the ballpark. :-)

Can't wait to see your clivia flowers! Wow, I am impressed that you grow Allium! I also have Nun's orchid with buds. Exciting, and a little impatient too!

You made your point very well, Susan. My Nun's Orchid is laying on the ground black from the cold. Should I anticipate new life? Or not?
