Welcome to my zone 9 garden. My roots are deeply planted in the sandy soil of sub-tropical central Florida, where the summers are long and hot, but the rest of the year is paradise!

Who Would Have Thought...

After the past few winters who would have thought we'd have these in early February:

Hibiscus flowers...not until late summer the past few years

Impatiens...mushy plants at this time last year

Angel Trumpets...NEVER in February!

I could definitely get used to winters like this.

Unbelievable, hibiscus now ?Global warming no doubt. I want your trumpet vine, mine died and never bloomed that I planted.

I am so jealous over your blooms. LOL! The hibiscus is so gorgeous.

I am a central Florida gardener also and have a blog that includes gardening but it is about my life in general - not just gardening. I enjoyed looking at your garden.

Hello. Just stopping by via the Florida Gardner's FB. What beautiful flowers.
We have some beautiful yellow hibiscus that have been blooming and I love it. Our vegetable garden has been going crazy too. I love it.

Hope to be back by to visit again soon

WoW! They like this weather as much as we gardeners do! Thanks for sharing your lovely treasures!

I love the weather, but the garden is rebounding way too quick for me.I can't wait until we set the clocks ahead and I have more daylight after work.My lone hibiscus made it thru the winter, but isn't blooming yet.

Hi Susan.... ok, I'm also in zone 9, on the Gulf side of the state and my garden sure does not look like yours. Wonder why? What are you doing that I'm not?
Lovely garden....

How nice to have the hibiscus blooming already! I no longer have any in my garden. Mine were too old and had frozen too many winters to keep any longer. They sure are pretty when they're happy. I think they actually prefer cool weather, just not freezing:)

Gina...It truly is unbelievable that we have hibiscus in February. How was your winter in S.C.?

Lona...Hopefully you'll have blooms soon.

Betty...Hi and welcome. I look forward to checking out your blog. Thanks for leaving a comment.

Hi Not so Perfect Housewife...Glad you found me, and I look forward to visiting your Florida bungalow. I've seen other gardeners winter veggie garden and they looked good, too.

Daisy...I have definitely enjoyed our winter.

Chris...You're right. I'm out there trying to get things trimmed back a bit as everything is budding out. :)

Hi sandy...You would think since you're closer to the coast, especially the gulf, that you would have had a milder winter. Although the folks around Pasco and Hernando county always seem to be the coldest.

Hi Kay...I've had some that didn't make it through the past couple of winters either which makes me appreciate the few I have left even more. :)

Yes, I'm loving this mild winter as well although I could never imagine Angel Trumpets in February. I'll imagine they'll bloom all Spring and Summer for you.

I think I have that same red hibiscus Susan. I 'had' a beautiful Angel Trumpet with similar colored blooms, but it died. :-(

We've certainly had a milder winter than normal, and it feels like summer is starting instead of spring.

Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady
